Texas Red Cedar (juniperus mexicana) or Wester Red Cedar is not your average cedarwood scent. It will smell slightly deeper or muskier than what you usually think of as "cedar scent". It's still smells like cedar, of course, but you'll notice the scent is just a little different than your grandma's cedar chest. The typical cedar scent most people are used to smelling is Virginian (juniperus virginian). These two are NOT the same plant, though they are related. The biggest advantage of Texas Red Cedar is the amazing repellent and insecticide qualities, much more so than Virginian cedar. Highly recommended.
